Jan 25, 2011 at 3:31 AM

hi ,

i have been using it since three months , its a very good converter in the internet world. previously i have been using the handbrake for converting my videos to nokia x6. the handbrake gives me baseline @1.2 by using the apple universal but really disappointed with vidcoder becoz its can't be set lower than cabac level 2.1 and i always getting video error messege in my phone . i don't want to leave this app plz help me asap.

Looks like I was missing trellis=0 on the Universal preset. I'll fix this in the next version. In the meantime, you can add it back in manually and it may fix your problem. Or just paste this line into Advanced -> Options String

ref=2:bframes=0:weightp=0:me=umh:subme=6:8x8dct=0:cabac=0:trellis=0

hi ,

thanks for your quick reply but it did'nt helped so much. i have paste the above line in the open string but still it gave me cabac baseline@2.1 . 2 ref frames.  plz look into it.

Can you post a log from both HandBrake and VidCoder of the encode you're trying? I tried both and did not see any difference in the profiles it was using, other than trellis=0. What are you using to determine how it has been encoded?

and one thing why don't you add the xvid codec in the codec option apart from ffmeg.if you do this in the next version then believe me it is the best converter of the converters . and if you priced it then i am ready to buy it not even me and any one who uses it.

Yikes, could you pastebin that so I get some line breaks? As for the x264 profiles, I can't pass them in through the HandBrake API. They need to support them before VidCoder can. I don't believe Xvid output is going to be added. It's a worse codec than H.264 and probably won't be added to HandBrake anyway.
