Vidcoder Crash on Encode

Nov 30, 2013 at 9:32 PM
Just got the latest version 1.4.25.0 (x64).

I can add the file to the que and as soon as I click on start, Vidcoder crashes. The x86 version seems to work fine so far, but I have been using the x64 version for a good while and it has worked fine up to now.

I run an AMD FX-4100, 8GB of memory,... horsepower or compatible hardware, should not be an issue. As I said, the x64 version was working fine until this last update.

What is the error? Can you try re-downloading 1.4.25 and re-installing it?

There is no error, it just gives the "VidCoder has encountered and error, Windows is searching for a solution". I'll look to see if the log says anything. And yes, I have re-downloaded the package and installed again. Then I uninstalled all versions completely and reinstalled the x64 with the same result.

As stated the x86 version works mostly fine. It appears to hang for a couple of seconds when starting, and then jumps to 16.7% and then works fine from there. The x64 won't work at all, it hangs for 2 to 4 seconds on encode start and then stops with the screen cap posted above.

I completely uninstalled all versions of Vidcoder, removed presets and prefs and rebooted my machine. Then re installed the x64 version and re imported my preferences. It seems to be working now, but still hangs a bit when first starting an encode.
