VidCoder Logfiles

Dec 13, 2014 at 2:59 PM
To be honest.. I am a little unsure, likely I am mistaken, but if my memory serves me well, in the 'older ' versions of VidCoder I could set the logfiles folder and the log files are named after the filename.

At least I kept the logfilesfolder from previous version and there were .txt files named after the videofile on per file basis.

Now the logfiles are on C:\ and are having a date.

Is that new, or am I overlooking something?

That aside: compliments on VidCoder !!

Are you talking about the setting Options -> Advanced -> Copy the encode log to the same directory as the encoded video ?

That's the only setting to change the log file location we've had, and it still seems to work in 1.5.30.

I guess so...
Well, I don't know what I did in the past, but the portable version ( I am using the portable version only)
is on my F:\ drive
So F:\VidCoder-1.5.30-x64-Portable
with a subfolder VidCoderLogs

The log entries go back months.

The older log entries they all have the name of the source file and now they only have a date.

I just think I know - shouldn't have written this thread :-)

I -guess- it has something to do that the older log files covered encoding files on 1 file, 1 task basis.
The recent encoding jobs were multiple files in 1 task, so VidCoder cannot name the logfile after the source file,
which presumably it can when it is doing just 1 file.

sorry for the confusion.
