b-adapt=2? encoding for windows media center to xbox360

I encoded about 200 videos. Then I needed to change the parameters to do a different transcoding project. I saved my settings, but now when I try to encode with them they're not working.

Using mediainfo, I am seeing the encodings settings for a file that worked like this:
Writing library : x264 core 142 r2479 dd79a61
Encoding settings : cabac=1 / ref=3 / deblock=1:0:0 / analyse=0x3:0x113 / me=umh / subme=7 / psy=1 / psy_rd=1.00:0.00 / mixed_ref=1 / me_range=16 / chroma_me=1 / trellis=1 / 8x8dct=1 / cqm=0 / deadzone=21,11 / fast_pskip=1 / chroma_qp_offset=-2 / threads=9 / lookahead_threads=1 / sliced_threads=0 / nr=0 / decimate=1 / interlaced=0 / bluray_compat=0 / constrained_intra=0 / bframes=3 / b_pyramid=2 / b_adapt=1 / b_bias=0 / direct=1 / weightb=1 / open_gop=0 / weightp=2 / keyint=240 / keyint_min=24 / scenecut=40 / intra_refresh=0 / rc_lookahead=40 / rc=crf / mbtree=1 / crf=16.5 / qcomp=0.60 / qpmin=0 / qpmax=69 / qpstep=4 / vbv_maxrate=25000 / vbv_bufsize=31250 / crf_max=0.0 / nal_hrd=none / filler=0 / ip_ratio=1.40 / aq=1:1.00
The only difference I can see in a file that is not playing back is 'b-adapt=2'. But I don't see anything in the advanced video settings that would seem to change that?

I will gladly send you the complete mediainfo data for both files...

You can type 'b-adapt=2' into the More Settings field or the Options String. Not every x264 setting has UI associated with it.

It's the b=1 I'm trying to get to. Where did that come from?

I don't know what you mean by "b=1". You can see the valid x264 parameters here: http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/MeGUI/x264_Settings

Doesn't Adaptive B-Frames: do this?
b-adapt=0 'Off'
b-adapt=1 'Fast (Default)'
b-adapt=2 'Optimal'

Yes exactly.
I guess that's it.
I will try to re-encode one of the movies with that.
