Mpeg1 Audio - One stereo to two Mono channel

Nov 12, 2016 at 2:49 PM

I have lots of old mpeg1 karaoke files where left channel is karaoke and right channel has vocal.

Is there a autonomous way to convert them to one mkv x265 with two audio channels? Ideally I dont want to demux them one by one.

I assume you want two Mono audio tracks instead of a single stereo track. There's no way to do this with the HandBrake API I have access to.

I got this to work by adding two stream to the output. One gets its audio from the left channel of the source stream and the other gets it from the right channel of the source stream.

Everything works fine if I do a few files at a time. Adding the whole library of 6,000 crashes the tool. Trying adding around 5000 files also crashes it. Handbrake can handle around 3,000 files fine.

Try it with 2.39 Beta. This runs the batch scan operation in a separate process so it shouldn't crash when one fails.
