Release Notes

  • First Beta release! Catches up to HandBrake nightlies with SVN 4937.
    • Added PGS (Blu-ray) subtitle support.
    • Additional framerates available: 30, 50, 59.94, 60
    • Additional sample rates available: 8, 11.025, 12 and 16 kHz
    • Additional higher bitrates available for audio.
    • Same as Source Constant Framerate available.
    • Added Apple TV 3 preset.
    • Added new Bob deinterlacing option.
  • Introduced process isolation for encodes. Now if HandBrake crashes, VidCoder will keep running and continue processing the queue.
  • Mixdowns that are not supported by the current source are grayed out.
  • Fixed number box immediately correcting after an invalid input.
  • Custom formatting now works on batch file encodes.
  • Automatic audio/subtitle selection options now work on batch file encodes and on queuing multiple titles.
  • Changed manual cropping settings to only allow even numbers. This should avoid having odd picture dimensions (and x264 failures).

Reviews for this release

this release does not get the video dimensions of the source correctly and the constant framerate does not work with 23.976 fps. it still produces a 23.976 variable framerate.

When changing to picture sizing to 1280 Width or Max Width, the encoded output does not keep the Aspect Ratio yet it uses the original size for the Height.
