audio track name ?

hi, i'm french but so sorry for my english if isn't perfect

I recently discovery your soft because I had a problem with handbrake beyond 0.9.5 because beyond this version, there is no "target size" and "forum" told me vidcoder.

I tried your soft but I have small probleme. I can't track name audio. If setting i'ts good but after recoding, the audio has not a name.

how can i do ?

I have use beyon mkv merge for track name audio+movie

otherwise :
  • I'm trayed your beta version 1.5.6 but no scan possible. does not work. I'm reinstall 1.4.24 for workink
  • could you place how many fps take on seconde on bottom such as handbrake with remaning timecode and could you place elapsed timecode ? I'm a little lost.
  • why can't we have dts such ass ac3 libav for reencode on DTS ?
very thanks (sorry for my english if not perfect)

Naming audio tracks only works in for certain players like iTunes. That's why it has the warning on it. I would need more details about the "no scan possible" issue. What does the scan log say?

You can see the current FPS by hovering over the progress bar, and the remaining time is always listed to the right. Why do you want to see the elapsed time?

I don't understand your third bullet point. I will say that the HandBrake API doesn't have a DTS encoder.

thanks for your answer.

"no scan possible" in fact, the soft is installed well, we run it, ok. but when trying to importe a file video or video "dossier", it ca n't scan the import and displays "scan error" in red instead of the progress of the scan
I removed this beta for 1.4.26

ok for track name but is very dammage

for fps very so sorry, I had not saw. It's very cool but is better if it always visible in right with remaning timecode ;) the elapsed timecode them to seeing how long it has been, how long it has been in total to better optimize the time after. I was used with avidemux and handbrake for exemple

ok for not API DTS in handbrake, but for vidcoder, we could has a day ? I "love" DTS ! I know licence paid for DTS, but audiophilie love dts. I have many AAC on tv and recode to AC3 but i'll prefer if DTS ;) (I request if is possible in next version)

but, I suggest a "alert post" on vidcoder in press "stop", we havn't alert. if bad clic, we lost recode and we lost very long time if "accident"

RandomEngy wrote Sep 18, 2013 at 5:35 PM

Well I can't help you if you don't provide a log for the scan problem. I don't understand your argument about why you need to see the elapsed encoding time but I'll make a note of it.

No, I'm not going to implement DTS encoding. VidCoder uses the HandBrake API for encoding and even if I wanted to I couldn't hook in and add it. Use passthrough if you've got a DTS source.

I will consider adding a confirmation dialog to "STOP" if an encode has been going on for more than 5 minutes.

frederic76 wrote Sep 18, 2013 at 6:17 PM

for scan problem, I can possibly reinstall the version beta and I can doing screen capture and after, recomback with actual version

the error post is here : a place of this when select file or dossier and ok, It not scanning, the error on this place it on. we can't reencode this file or dossier. on revenche, this same file/dossier on 1.4.26 and vidcoder scanning and ok such as capture.

ok for dts, it's suggest ;)

ok for adding confirmation Stop but why not put it when a reencode instant such in all soft for recoding audio/movie or other ? (suggest ;))

very thanks ;)

dammage there is not a french forum ! it's hard for me ! and school is very long and at school, i'm very bad pupil english ! :)

I promise screen capture from actual beta version in x64 of bug of scan
look here :

I opened the beta software, I chose a video file, then in h264. mp4 but can not go further because it has not managed to scan the file for re-encoding after. So there was no info chapter, time, language ... and you can not re-encode after since unloaded properly. the fact that 99% of files apparently, it's the same if folder or dvd not ripped, selection. the same file, folder or dvd on the last no-beta release and it's ok
My PC is on windows 7 pro x64 sp1. I have las version of net framework

That's not a log, that's a screenshot of a generic scan error. Post the log and I will help.

then it is a single file from a replay downloaded from a website replay in h264 .mp4
I take a divx, a BDMV ripped, ripped a dvd or another, it does not scan, always the error message
I replaced the beginning of the filename by #

RandomEngy wrote Sep 20, 2013 at 4:49 PM

The HandBrake library doesn't recognize it:

scan: unrecognized file type

That's not something I can do anything about. If you want to try with HandBrake and report the problem to them, they might fix it.

frederic76 wrote Sep 20, 2013 at 5:22 PM

for handbrake, I was stuck with 0.9.5 (excellent) because beyond, there is alas than target size. I had been on their forum to ask them if in the next version, they could not re-include target size, their response was more "no" because at the beginning, unanswered, my request was rejected! Then when I asked for an explanation, they told me 1) stay with 0.9.5, 2) learn how to use a calculator for RF, 3) use VidCoder! and that's how I read your software.
on 0.9.5 I had no desire to import files and then re-encode, but I could not include the track and let hd passtrough (except after using mkv merge) and with the imminent arrival of H265/X265, I risked be bothered quickly

they will return to me without doubt VidCoder forum!

for VidCoder if version not beta, it's ok, very well. if beta, it does not work

thanks for answers ;)

VidCoder uses the HandBrake core to scan files and do the actual encoding. It looks like the problem is with their code, and they will help you if the problem is happening in HandBrake as well.
