VidCoder 1.5 Update and 1.4 Presets

description

This may just be due to portable mode but running 1.5.x on a 1.4.x machine, the presets show up but the output format (mp4) and many advanced settings aren't being read from the 1.4.x presets.

I'm guessing the preset format has been updated but just wanted to let you know if it's supposed to be converting it, it's missing stuff.

(If it's not supposed to, perhaps just store presets in a different location or table?)

Possible caveat, the beta is in portable mode and the 1.4.x is not.

Can you send me %appdata%\VidCoder\VidCoder.sqlite ? I'll see if I can reproduce.

So you were seeing the "Advanced" tab disappear when upgrading? If you see this, but the advanced options string doesn't change, this is expected. In 1.4 VidCoder would let you pick some x264 preset/profile/tune settings and also some advanced settings on top of it. This had the unfortunate effect of showing you settings on the Advanced tab that were simply incorrect, due to the order the preset/profile/tune were applied. So in the 1.5 betas it translates this to "Basic + advanced options string". If you want to get back to the advanced options tab you can switch from "Basic" to "Advanced" and you can mess with those settings, but you won't get to mess with preset/profile/tune any more.
