Bug: improper output resolution generated

description

While upsampling anime DVD video (first to 1600x1200 as an interim step, then down to 1440x1080), I noticed that the interim video outputted at 1600x1218 and the final outputted at 1440x1090. The display resolutions were correct in both cases, but the files themselves are slightly oversized.,

Here are some screen-clips; the first is of VidCoder's selected setting, the second from VLC's codec info:

BTW, setting the "Max Height" value does not prevent the oversizing.

Can you provide an encode log?

The logs appear to be OK (i.e, they say the resolution is as specified).

As I research further, it looks like the bug is in VLC Media Player's info codec info screen, because no other media info utility is saying my files are any output resolution other than what I selected.

So, no worries.
