chapter import from .csv file

Dec 31, 2010 at 7:08 PM

i try to use the chapter name import via .csv file but nothing seems to work.

i'm using vidcoder 0.7.2

i tried to create an excel file with a chapter name per row and then save it as ms-dos .csv or just via notepad to save a file like text1,text2,text3 as .csv file.

But when using the files vidcoder seems to do just nothing.

What is the correct way and format to create the .csv file ?

It's expecting a format like this:

1,Name 1
2,Name 2
3,Name 3

In excel that would be the first column being the chapter numbers and the second column being the chapter names.

I'd like to add chapter markers to my movies, but I'm struggling with the csv-format, because you have to specify the number, name and duration of each chapter, but I have no clue how to enter it into a csv-sheet. And additionally, most chapter databases only offer the txt- or xml-format for download.

Could someone give me any helpful advices?

In VidCoder you can only customize the names of the chapters; you can't add custom chapter markers at specific points. You can only change the names, and that's with the specific format I mentioned in the previous post.
