I tried to find a similar problem in the discussions but couldn't.
I have a 8GB MKV file that I wanted to compress into a 1.5GB MP4 file.
I use Vidcoder 220.127.116.11 x64 with Windows x64
My settings are as follows:
IPS: same as source
I set the size to 1500 with a 2 pass encoding, no turbo first pass
Then everything else is by default.
Problem is, after a long time (takes a long time...) I get a 420MB file, very ugly.
I switched to Handbrake 0.9.4 and I get the correct size with (almost) the same settings.
Have I done something wrong with Vidcoder?
Thank you for your insights :)

Please post future issues on the new GitHub site:
I've added a bunch of logging around bitrate calculation to VidCoder Beta 2.30. Can you download that version and open an issue on GitHub with a Pastebin link to the logs?
